When Life Gives You Lemons. . .

 

Lemon is an often underestimated essential food. Some of its benefits include: heart health, weight control, kidney stone prevention, cancer risk reduction, improved digestion, and so much more. Additionally, when lemon is infused in water or mixed with other amazing ingredients, its benefits only increase.

We are sharing our favorite ways to use lemon for the ultimate health boost!

  1. Lemon Infused Water: a great way to increase hydration is to infuse water with lemon. Typically, we like to use 1 Lemon, a few Mint Leaves, 1/4 cup of Aloe Vera Juice, and 1/2 teaspoon of Himalayan Salt measured to a 32oz. water bottle for the ultimate detox!

  2. Lemon Essential Oil: if you are a lover of essential oils like us, here is one to add to your wellness station! The benefits of lemon essential oil are amazing; some of which include: fighting exhaustion, reducing depression, controlling acne, killing of harmful viruses and bacteria, and reducing inflammation. Bonus Tip: you can also use a glass spray bottle and create your own lemon spray! 1 cup of water, 4-5 drops of lemon oil, and a teaspoon of witch hazel - mix and spray!

  3. Lemon Immunity Boost: our favorite way to boost immunity is with a simple recipe: lemon, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, and honey. Blend and drink 1 tablespoon a day to keep the sickness away.
